STREAMSONG, Florida (Jan. 27, 2014) -- There is no missing the trend towards a return to natural golf course architecture over the last 20 years. Architects like Tom Doak, Bill Coore, Ben Crenshaw, and Kyle Phillips have worked with owners like Mike Keiser (Bandon Dunes) to create masterpieces that more closely resemble the work of C.B. Macdonald and Alister Mackenzie than they do a TPC-type venue.

At Streamsong, not only do a Tom Doak and Coore & Crenshaw design sit side by side at a former phosphate mine, these two firms worked side-by-side to fit their designs together on that moonscape of a property. As the story goes, Doak used a Blue pen and Coore & Crenshaw used a Red one -- the resulting layouts are simply referred to as Streamsong Blue and Streamsong Red.

And either one is worth traveling to from anywhere, as evidenced by the way they've vaulted into the top 100 lists of several major publications.
