ATLANTA, Ga. (June 27, 2013) – Ollie Schniederjans shook off a sluggish start Thursday to claim the halfway lead in the Dogwood Invitational.

Schniederjans, a junior at Georgia Tech, struggled to a 1-over start through six holes at Druid Hills Golf Club before playing the final 12 holes in 4 under to shoot 69. Schniederjans, of Powder Springs, Ga., stands at 12-under 132. He leads Michael Johnson (69), a junior at Auburn, by one stroke.

Tom Loveland (69), Davin White (70) and Benjamin Griffin (73) share third place at 134.

Griffin, a high school senior and two-time state champion from Chapel Hill, N.C., failed to match the form of the opening day, when he set the Druid Hills course record with a bogeyfree 11-under 61. Griffin, who has committed to North Carolina, played a rocky round that included a triple bogey, three bogeys and five birdies.

Sixteen players are within seven shots of the lead, and 47 are at par or better. The third round begins Friday morning, with final-round play Saturday.
