ST. LOUIS, MO (July 17, 2013) — Catherine
Dolan held off a fierce competitor on
Wednesday.
Just one week after capturing the Missouri State
Women's Amateur, Dolan won the St. Louis
Metropolitan Women's Amateur by two shots
over one of
America's best women's amateur players — Ellen
Port.
Port, who is the defending USGA Senior
Women's Amateur champion and winner of five
total USGA sanctioned events, trailed Dolan by
one shot heading into Wednesday's final round
and shot 74 to finish two back in second place.
Dolan, a member of the Missouri State
University women's golf team, shot 71-73 to
take her second championship in as many
weeks.
