Chip Lutz takes low am at Senior British Open

SOUTHPORT, England (July 28, 2013) -- Chip Lutz finished tied for 48th place at the 2013 British Senior Open, firing a final-round 5-over 75 to take low amateur honors at Royal Birkdale.
In making the cut, Lutz shot rounds of 71-71 to open the week and shot 75 in both weekend rounds.
Lutz, of Reading, Penn., was also the low amateur in the 2012 British Senior Open and winner of last year's British Senior Amateur.
He was the only amateur to make the weekend cut. Fellow American Jim Volpenhein shot 77 in both of his rounds.
