SACRAMENTO, Calif. (Sept. 2, 2013) -- Final results from the 2013 California Women's State Fair: Overall Champion was Betty Chen, scoring 67-72 for 138 total.

Chen finished three strokes ahead of Megan Osland, who was the lone runner-up.

Clare Payne took the Senior title scoring a 66-60 for an amazing 126. Payne was just four strokes ahead of Patricia Ickes.

Handicap overall champion Spencer Downey tied at 141 after 36 holes with June Kitipan, calling for a sudden death playoff. Downey prevailed with a routine par.

Kitipan won First Place in the second handicap flight.

Melinda Murray won First Place in the first handicap flight.

ABOUT THE California State Fair Women's

*An NCGA Points Tournament*

The 30th California State Fair Women’s Championship will be contested at Bartley Cavanaugh Golf Course, Sacramento, CA on August 30-31, 2025.

The tournament is open to all women amateur golfers with an established WHS Index of 36.4 or less. The August 15, 2025, GHIN will used to determine eligibility and handicap.

The Championship Flight contestants must have an index of 6.6 or less and will play at scratch from the Blue Tees at about 5,800 yards.

The Handicap Division will award both Net and Gross prizes and include a Senior Flight. The amount and number of awards (Morton Golf gift cards) will be based on the number of participants. The Senior Flight will consist of all those participants, age 50 and up. The Handicap Division, including the Senior Flight, will play from the Black Tees at about 4,700 yards.

The winner of the Championship division will be named the 2025 State Fair Women’s Champion, and her name will be inscribed on a perpetual trophy. The gross winner of the Senior Flight will be named the 2025 State Fair Women's Senior Champion, and her name will be inscribed on a new perpetual trophy.

A tie for the Championship Division, Low Gross in the Senior flight and Low Net in the Handicap division will be resolved with a playoff. All other ties will be decided based on the USGA recommended method of matching score cards.

The entry fee is $175 and includes two days green fees and awards (Power Cart Not Included).

The entry deadline is August 20, 2025 – no refunds after this date. Please call Charlie Cheung, Tournament Director (916-870-5080) regarding cancellations or refund requests prior to the deadline. There will be a $10 administrative fee for any withdrawals prior to the entry deadline and $25 service charge on all returned checks.
