John R. Williams Four-Ball tees off
ROCHESTER, N.Y. (Sept. 19, 2013) -- Marc Mandel (Plymouth Meeting, PA) and Stephen Hudacek (Scranton, PA) carded the low round of the day with a score of 4-under-par 66 and lead after the first round of play at the 2013 John R. Williams Four-Ball on Oak Hill's famed East Course.
After having started their round with a 5-under-par 30 on the front nine, the winners held on to take the lead.
In second place are Dave Poteet (Suwanee, GA) and Mike Cromer (Norcross, GA) with 67. Cromer holed out from 100 yards on the 18th hole for birdie to finish their round.
In a three-way tie for third at 68 are Shawn Baker (Rochester, NY) and Davidde Giordano (West Palm Beach, FL), Robert Funk (Canyon Lake, CA) and David Bartman (Los Angeles, CA), and James Buchholz (Roanoke, IN) and Kevin Blythe (Decatur, IN).
Brian Harris and Gary VanSickle are tied atop the leaderboard with Jim Quinn and Bob Neal in the Senior division after both teams shot first-round 69s.
Thursday's round was competed with the Friday pin placements from the 2013 PGA Championship, held six weeks ago at Oak Hill. Friday's second round will begin at 7:30 AM for the morning wave and 11:48 AM for the afternoon wave.

54-hole two man best ball format with Mid-Am and Senior divisions. By invitation only.
Entrants must have a
handicap of 3.4 or less, with the team total not to
exceed 5.5. Both members
of teams in the Senior Division must be 55 years of
age
by the first day of
the tournament. Senior index requirements are 4.4
individual and 7.2 team.
