Dave Poteet, Mike Cromer take lead at J.R. Williams Four-Ball
ROCHESTER, N.Y. (Sept. 20, 2013) -- Under a second day of exceptional conditions, the second round of the 2013 John R. Williams Four-Ball Tournament was competed at Oak Hill Country Club in Rochester, NY.
In the Mid-Am Division, Dave Poteet (Suwanee, GA) and Mike Cromer (Norcross, GA) carded a one-under par score of 69 to take the lead with a two-day total of 136. Second place belongs to Oak Hill's Shawn Baker and Davidde Giordano (West Palm Beach, FL), who trail by 1 shot after their round of 69 brought them to 137. In a tie for third are Eoin O'Connor (Toronto, ONT) and Boyd Mickle (Hamilton, ONT) and Don Padgett and Dan Belden (both from Akron, OH) at 139. Padgett and Belden had the low round of the day with a two-under par 68.
In the Senior Division, there is a three-way tie for first. Brian Harris (Oak Hill) and Gary VanSickle (Wexford, PA), along with Jim Quinn and Bob Neal (both from Arlington, TX) had identical totals of 69-73-142. Joining them at 142 with two consecutive even-par rounds are Lee Dennis (Comer, GA) and Mel Mendenhall (Marietta, GA).
The tournament was played with the Saturday pin positions from the 2013 PGA Championship. The tournament will conclude tomorrow with 33 Mid-Am teams and 8 Senior teams making the cut for the final round.

John R. Williams Invitational
54-hole two man best ball format with Mid-Am and Senior divisions. By invitation only.
Entrants must have a
handicap of 3.4 or less, with the team total not to
exceed 5.5. Both members
of teams in the Senior Division must be 55 years of
age
by the first day of
the tournament. Senior index requirements are 4.4
individual and 7.2 team.
