Throughout much of the golf season, the amateur schedule pushed focus at amateurgolf.com onto the collegiate stars and mid-amateurs making headlines across the country.

This fall, however, some of the top senior events and players have taken over our news feed --- and for good reason.

Following Doug Hanzel's win at the 2013 USGA Senior Amateur Championship, three of the year's best senior-laden fields took aim at the Crump Cup, Senior Azalea and Yeamans Hall Senior Invitational.

Here's a look at the latest national news:

BRADY EXBER WINS 3RD SENIOR AZALEA TITLE

Brady Exber fired a final-round 70 to secure the top spot on the leaderboard at the 2013 Senior Azalea at The Country Club of Charleston.

Exber, who won his third Senior Azalea, rode to a seven-shot victory on the strength of his 68- 68 start to the tournament.

Edward Vomaztek finished alone in second place after rounds of 70-69-74.

Tied for third place were Bill Leonard and Bert Atkinson, who finished nine shots back of Exber.

Ted Smith was a three-shot winner in the Super Senior Division. Smith prevailed over Mike Weiner, who finished at 2-over for the event.

YEAMANS HALL SENIOR: TINGLEY TAKES TITLE

Playing in his first event as a member of the Society of Seniors, Jon Tingley won by a shot at the 2013 Yeamans Hall Senior Invitational at Yeamans Hall Club in Charleston, SC.

Tingley survived wet conditions and a loaded field to top Dan Cook by a shot in the shortened 36-hole Championship Division, shooting 71-72.

Ted Smith's final-round 1-under 69 gave him a one-shot victory in the Super Senior Division.

GENE ELLIOT WINS CRUMP CUP

Qualifying co-medalist and No. 1 seed Gene Elliott rode a wave of dominating play to the 2013 Crump Cup championship.

Elliott beat Matthew Sughrue, 5-and-3, in the championship match Sunday afternoon at prestigious Pine Valley.

The runaway victory in the finale was one of three easy resounding victories for the champion during the match play portion of the event. En route to the final, Elliott dispatched of Keith Decker (6-and-5), John Patterson (6-and- 5) and Michael Muehr (1-up) in the semifinal

KNAPP STAYS HOT, WINS 3rd ART WALL, JR. TITLE

Sean Knapp continued his dominant ways by winning the 9th annual Art Wall, Jr. Memorial at Allegheny Country Club.

To win his third Art Wall title, Knapp shot two straight rounds of 5-under 65 to finish with an impressive 11-shot victory.

The win comes on the heals of Knapp's victories at the Pennsylvania Mid-Amateur and the Pennsylvania Public Links. He was also the low amateur at this year's U.S. Senior Open.

TOM BRANDES WINS 3RD STRAIGHT WASHINGTON SENIOR

Tom Brandes shot 4-under 68 in the final round to take his third straight Washington State Senior Championship.

Brandes led entering the final round by one hot but caught fire in the final round to put it away. Brandes, of Bellevue, Wash., was 4-under at the turn as he cruised to an eight-shot victory.

Throughout the event, Brandes recorded 14 birdies and an eagle.

Bob Burton finished second.

MIKE PECK RALLIES FOR TEXAS SENIOR TITLE

Mike Peck was one shot off the lead entering the final round of play at the Texas Senior Championship but closed with a 2-under 69 and a two-shot victory at Willow Brook Country Club in Tyler, Tex.

Peck finished the 54-hole event at 4-under 209.

Tom McGraw and Bill Holstead finished at 2- under and tied for second place.
