Perkins, Lehman hold division leads at Crane Cup
PALM CITY, Fla. (Nov. 8, 2013) -- Stephen Perkins fired a 68 and takes a three-shot lead after the first round of action at the Crane Cup.
At The Floridian, Perkinks shot the mid-amateur division's only round under par and will enter Round 2 of the 54-hole stroke-play competition three shots up on Jose Maruri and a loaded field of nationally-ranked players.
Maruri, a member of the amateurgolf.com Player Staff Program, is alone in second after a first-round 71.
Aron Hickman, Keith Decker, Mike Stamberger and tournament coordinator Kevin Marsh are all tied for third place, sitting four back of the leader.
Defending champion Patrick Christovich is one of four players tied for 12th place at 74.
In the Senior Division, Jim Lehman leads Randy Elliot by three shots after an opening-round 66. Elliot shot 69 while DOug Lacrosse and Duke Delcher are tied for third after shooting 70.
