Kingsway Senior: Occi leads by three
LAKE SUZY, Fla. (Jan. 12, 2014) -- Mike Occi of Clarksville, Md. shot a first-round 66 and leads by three shots after the first round of play at the 2014 Kingsway Senior Invitational.
Created by Virginia's Dave King and now part of the Golfweek Florida Swing, the event Formerly known as the Bobcat Trail Senior Amateur is being played at Kingsway Country Club.
Occi leads Steve Groom, also of Maryland, by three. Groom opened play with a 69.
Jack Bracken and Tom Hyland both shot 71 and sit tied for third while Floridians John Lockwood and Jon Tingley join Canadian Mike Jackson tied for fifth place, six shots behind Occi.
John Cuomo leads the Super Senior flight after a first-round 72 while Brodie Baker is atop the Legends Flight thanks to an opening 73.
