Mississippi Mid-Am: Local favorite Snow prevails
HATTIESBURG, Miss. (March 23, 2014) -- Local favorite Ben Snow of Hattiesburg Country Club shot a final-round 70 to win the 2014 Mississippi State Mid-Amateur Championship at Hattiesburg Country Club.
Snow opened with two straight rounds of 69 and trailed Josh Lampley entering the final round. His final-round 70 was the day's lowest round and it gave him a three-shot victory.
Lampley (72-64-75), whose second-round 64 was the round of the tournament, finished tied for second place alongside Brandon Laird (73-67-71) at 211.
John Wilson (73-68-75) and Michael Hammett (70-68-78) finished tied for fourth place.

Mississippi Mid-Amateur
Tournament is scheduled for 54 holes of stroke play
(36 holes for women). The
Championship is open to amateurs who have
reached their 25th birthday and are bona fide
residents of the state of Mississippi for at least 60
days prior to the first round of the tournament.
Participants must conform with the USGA Rules of
Amateur Status. All participants in Mississippi Golf
Association State Championships will be required to
have an active GHIN Handicap through a USGA
Licensed Mississippi Club. Participants must be bona
fide residents of the state of Mississippi for at least
60 days prior to the first round of the tournament.
