Junior Inv. at Sage Valley: Horsfield, Dalke among favorites
GRANITEVILLE, S.C. (April 24, 2014) -- Many of the nation's top junior stars take aim at the title at the Junior Invitational at Sage Valley, starting Thursday.
Indeed, a top field is ready for what Golfweek has named the best event in junior golf after just three years.
University of Florida commits Sam Horsfield and Jorge Garcia are among the top players to watch. Horsfield, who put together a spectacular 2013, which included an 11-shot victory at the Florida State Amateur and a run at the U.S. Junior, placed second at last year's Junior Invitational. Garcia, a native of Venezuela, was 10th last year and won the 2013 AJGA Thunderbird.
Scottie Scheffler is also a favored pick. The 2013 U.S. Junior champion is the top-ranked player in Golfweek's Junior Rankings.
Oklahoma State commit Brad Dalke is yet another player to follow. Just 16, Dalke is long and mature -- a deadly combination.
