Pacific Northwest Cup Matches tee off Thursday
Tom Brandes
DuPONT, Wash. (May 7, 2014) -- One of the nation's top courses will be host of one of its most unique events as the Home Course welcomes teams and competitors of the 2014 Pacific Northwest Golf Association Cup, which runs May 8-9.
The Ryder-Cup style competition started in 2006 and includes four-ball and foursomes matches on Day 1 and singles matches on Day 2.
The team from British Columbia won last year's event and will bring a team powered by top mid-amateur Kevin Carrigan to The Home Course with hopes of a title defense.
The other golf associations that make up the PNGA and will be competing in the PNGA Cup include: Idaho, Oregon and Washington.
Washington's team will feature Tom Brandes in the Master-40 division. Brandes has long been a force in Washington State Golf Association events as well as national competition.
Oregon will be led by Scott Hval while Boise-area mid-am John Baranco leads Idaho.
