Jeff Burda continues reign at Sacramento County Senior
CARMICHAEL, Calif. (May 14, 2014) -- Jeff Burda's reign at the Sacramento County Senior Championship has continued.
Burda, from Modesto, Calif., won for the second straight year and the fifth time in seven years this past weekend at Ancil Hoffman Golf Course. He added to his county dominance with a final-round 67 to roll to a four-shot lead over a solid field that featured a number of Northern California's top seniors.
Burda's run at the Sacramento County Senior may have another title included if not for some traffic Burda got stuck in in 2012. It prevented him from making his first-round tee time and forced him to not play in the event.
"I don't quite know," Burda said when asked to explain his success in the event. "It really doesn't fit my eye very well but I like the feel of it. It's an old style parkland course and I just always seem to play there."
In the Super Senior, Dennis Younglove topped Bob Olds by a shot.
