PNGA Master-40: Brandes, Hair reach finale

CLE ELUM, Wash. (May 16, 2014) -- Tom Brandes and Nate Hair are set for battle in the championship match at the Pacific Northwest Master-40.
The finalists powered through their semifinal and quarterfinal victories Thursday to reach Friday's finale.
Hair toppled Drew Machleid 4-and-3 in the morning quarterfinal and beat Craig Larson 3-and-2 in the semifinal, dropping an eagle on the par-5 11th.
Brandes, meanwhile, won a pair of tight matches. In the quarterfinal, he beat Rob Brindgardner on 18 before defeating Erik Hanson in a memorable match that included 13 birdies and 23 pars between the two.
In the quarterfinal, Brandes won despite a hole-in-one from his opponent to take a 1-up lead.
