Pasadena City: Sullivan rallies in final round
Dan Sullivan
PASADENA, Calif. (May 19, 2014) -- Kevin Fitzgerald and Jason Pridmore entered the final round of the 2014 Pasadena City Championship ready for glory. The two were to duke it out in a final-round battle for the title.
It was the perfect scenario for Dan Sullivan, who came from behind to win the overall title thanks to a final-round 72.
Sullivan was a shot back entering the final and outpaced Fitzgerald by two shots to win. Fitzgerald, a former UC Riverside golfer, held at least a share of the lead since Round 1.
Pridmore, who shot 71 on Saturday to storm back into contention, couldn't keep the momentum going and shot 82 on Sunday to fall to a tie for ninth place.
Brennan Amirkhizi shot 74-66-75-73 to finish alone in third place a year after claiming the title.
Nicholas Jan shot 70 on Sunday to surge and finish tied for fourth place alongside Tim Hogarth and Jonathan Lai.
