Trans-Miss Senior: Burda remains on top
LA QUINTA, Calif. (May 21, 2014) -- Another round, another lead for Jeff Burda.
Thanks to a 1-under 71, Burda maintained his position at the top of the leaderboard at the 2014 Trans-Mississippi Amateur Championship.
At La Quinta Country Club, Burda used his local knowledge (he holds a residence in the city and plays out of PGA West) to stretch his lead to two shots entering the third and final round of action Thursday.
Gary Hardin, who shot a second-round 71, is in second place. The Fort Worth, Texas resident matched Burda's low round of the day to climb the leaderboard and take sole possession of second place.
Mac McGee (74-73) is in third place entering Round 3.
Defending champion Corky Nelson is in a tie for 25th place.
