Palm Beach Sr Four Ball: Williams/Osler set record
PALM CITY , Fla. – Pete Williams of Juno Beach
and Darryl Osler of West Palm Beach posted
their second straight eight under par 64
Saturday for a tournament record 128 in
winning the 20th annual Palm Beach County
Senior Four-Ball at The Fox Club.
After a bogey-free performance
Friday, Williams and Osler had nine birdies and
a bogey Saturday in four-ball stroke play to win
by six. The previous record of 130 was set by
brothers Dann and David Merrell in 2007 and
equaled in 2012 by Scott Blasie and Tim Cox,
both on the Estate course at PGA National.
In the super seniors for players 60-
69, Mark Rubin of Coconut Creek made a 15-
foot birdie putt for the win the third time he and
Vic Gerard of Palm Beach Gardens played the
par-5 18th hole in a playoff. They had tied with
Dann Merrell, West Palm Beach , and Ron
Fisher, Delray Beach , at 143. Among the
Legends 70 and older, Jan Blick and Gerry
Barnett of Palm Beach Gardens won by three
with 65-70—135. They had topped the super
seniors flight in 2010 on PGA National’s Estate
layout.
There were 26 teams in three age
