Birmingham National Invitational: Tim Jackson tied for lead

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (May 30, 2014) -- Tim Jackson shot a 69 in the first round of Birmingham National Invitational at the Country Club of Birmingham, and is tied for the lead with Matthew Swan and Aaron Hickman.
Jackson, a two-time US Mid-Amateur champion, won the tournament three times in a row from 2006-2008.
Patrick Christovich, the 2012 champion, is part of a group of five players tied for fourth at even-par 71.
Last year’s champion, John Engler, is not in the field defending his title this year.
