Pacific Northwest Senior: Brandes takes lead

POWELL BUTTE, Ore. (June 4, 2014) -- Two-time defending champion Tom Brandes fired a second-round 2-under 70 to leap to the top of the leaderboard at the 2014 Pacific Northwest Senior Championship.
Brandes, who trailed first-round leader Jim Knoll heading into the day's play, kept pace with a surging Michael Kloenne for one of the best rounds of the day at Brasada Ranch.
Kloenne fired a 4-under 68 to climb into a tie for second place alongside Knoll. Knoll, from Northern California, shot 73 on Wednesday.
Carey Watson is fourth, shooting 72-71 while Harry Ferguson sits fifth.

Format: 54-hole Stroke Play Competition for seniors
and super seniors with the following
divisions:
Senior Championship (55+) – Contestants entering
in the Senior Championship will
compete in individual competition only (gross only)
and will play from a separate set of
tees, at a longer yardage.
Open Division (55+) – Contestants entering the
Open Division will compete in an
individual and a four-ball partnership competition
(gross and net) and will compete from a
shorter yardage. Players will be divided into flights
according to age for individual
competition only.
Super Senior Championship (65+) – Contestants
entering in the Super Senior
Championship will compete in individual competition
only (gross only) and will play from a
separate set of tees, at a slightly shorter yardage.
