HYANNIS, Mass. (June 6, 2014) -- Herbie Aikens fired a final-round 71 to earn low amateur honors at the 2014 Cape Cod Open Championship at Hyannis Golf Club.
Aikens, a past U.S. Amateur qualifier, shot 74-75 over the first two days but rallied with one of the final round's lowest cards to snag top amateur honors on a loaded leaderboard.
Reinstate amateur Matt Parziale, who shot 68 in Round 1, finished three shots back of Aiken's pace.
Kyle Gallo of Kensington, Conn. was the overall champion. He shot 71-70-72 to edge Michael Welch and Chris DeForest for the professional title.
