Western Penn. Amateur: Cutrell takes early lead
STATE COLLEGE, Penn. (June 16, 2014) -- Arnold Cutrell fired a 5-under 66 to take the early lead at the 114th Western Pennsylvania Amateur.
At Penn State Golf Course, Cutrell will take a one-shot lead over Dave Antill into the second round. Antill shot 4-under 67 in Monday's opening action.
William Smith and Nicolas Milito both carded 3-under 68 to tie for third -- one shot better than a trio of contenders in at 69.
All told, there are six players inside of three shots of the lead and six more just four shots back entering the second of three rounds.
Multiple-time champion Nathan Smith is not in the field, opting instead to play in the Northeast Amateur, which tees off from Wannamoisett Country Club in Rhode Island on Wednesday.
