Jeff Wilson, Burda ahead at George C. Thomas Invitational

LOS ANGELES, Calif. (June 27, 2014) — Jeff Wilson made his move on Friday at the George C. Thomas Invitational.
Wilson shot an even-par 71 at Los Angeles Country Club’s North Course to post a 36-hole total of 139 and take a two stroke lead in the mid-am division heading into the final round.
He jumped past first round leader and defending champion Mike McCoy, who followed up his first-round 5-under 66 with a 4-over 75.
Carlton Forrester sits in solo third at even-par 142, and a pack of four players is tied for fourth at 144.
Jeff Burda leads the Senior flight by a five-stroke margin after posting a 1-under 70 on Friday.
Brady Exber is in second place at 4-over 146, and Chip Lutz and Bryan Norton are tied for third at 5-over 147.
The George C. Thomas Invitational is one of the nation's premier mid-amateur and senior amateur events. The format is 54 holes of stroke play, and play will conclude on Saturday with the third and final round. For full results, follow the link below.

54-hole stroke play invitational with Mid-Am and
Senior divisions is named for George C. Thomas, Jr.,
the legendary golf course architect who designed the
courses for Bel-Air Country Club, The Los Angeles
Country Club, Riviera Country Club and others in the
1920s. Thomas was a prominent rose breeder on
the
East Coast before gaining fame as a golf course
designer. Los Angeles Country Club was the host of
the 2017 Walker Cup.
