Southern California Senior: Jeff Burda stays hot, rolls to 10-shot win
PASADENA, Calif. (July 2, 2014) -- Jeff Burda shot a final-round 74 and closed out an impressive 10-shot victory at the 2014 Southern California Senior Amateur at Annandale Golf Club.
Burda led by eight entering the final day of play and finished at 7-under and the only player to break par.
The win continues the dominant play from Burda, who, earlier this season, won another Sacramento County Senior title before winning the Trans-Miss Senior Championship.
Doug Williams of Los Angeles surged with a final-round 72 to tie Jim Knoll for second place. Knoll, who entered the event with recent wins at the Northern California Senior Amateur and the Pacific Northwest Senior Championship.
Ken Noonan (74-75-70), Craig Steinberg (70-78-71), Michael Turner (75-70-74) and Stephen Rhorer (71-74-74) all finished at 6-over 219 to tie for fourth place.

This event is open to members with handicap
indexes
of 9.4 and below and are age 55 and above.
Competitors compete in 18 holes of qualifying play
in
order to reach the final field of 84 players. In the
championship, players compete over 54 holes of
stroke
play over three days. The top 30 players and ties
advance after 36 holes to the final round to
determine
the overall Senior Amateur Champion.
