Conners, Pendrith share lead at Ontario Amateur
Corey Conners
GEORGETOWN, Ontario (July 10, 2014) -- The cream sure rose to the top Thursday at the Ontario Amateur Championship as Kent State teammates Corey Conners and Taylor Pendrith sit tied atop the leaderboard entering Friday's final round.
Conners shot 66 while Pendrith carded 67 Thursday to set the stage for an interesting final round between two friends and teammates.
Conners won the Jones Cup earlier this year and made headlines last summer with a run to the semifinals at the U.S. Amateur. Pendrith, of course, won the prestigious Porter Cup last July and recently took the title at the Monroe Invitational.
They're followed by Ryan Borg, Stephane Dubois and Chris Hemmerich, who all sit at 5-under and two shots back.
