Garrett Rank maintains lead at The Players Amateur
Garrett Rank
BLUFFTON, S.C. (July 12, 2014) -- Garrett Rank remains comfortably in the lead at The Players Amateur.
Following his course record-setting 10-under 62 on Friday, the Canadian mid-amateur, who earned a runner-up finish at the 2012 U.S. Mid-Amateur, shot a 2-under 70 and is six shots clear of a group of four players tied for second place at Berkeley Hall’s South Course.
North Florida's Jack Maguire, Oklahoma State's Zachary Olsen, Scott Vincent of Virginia Tech and Vanderbilt's Hunter Stewart, the event's defending champion, are all at 7-under through three rounds and sit six back of Rank's impressive pace.
Maguire and Olsen turned in stellar rounds Saturday, shooting 64 and 66, respectively, to climb towards the top of the leaderboard.
Zander Lombard, Austen Truslow and Matthew NeSmith aren't far behind, sitting tied for sixth at 6-under but entering Sunday's finale, it appears to be Rank's title to lose.
