Gerry Mackedon leads Hebron Amateur at Bethpage Black
FARMINGDALE, N.Y. (July 14, 2014) -- Gerry Mackedon shot an even par 71 to take the first-round lead at the 2014 Michael Hebron Amateur Championship.
Playing the rugged Black Course at Bethpage State Park, Mackedon built a one-shot lead over Connor O'Rourke in the 36-hole event that goes to honor a longtime Long Island PGA pro and run by the Long Island Golf Association.
Mike Guli and Paul Naples are tied for third after shooting first-round 73s while Brandon Romano, Colin Warren, Tyler Abrahamsen, Charles Tongue III and Mark Reilly sit just three shots back and tied for fifth place.
