Marc Reyes takes Costa Mesa City
COSTA MESA, Calif. (August 3, 2014) -- Marc Reyes played perfect golf this past weekend, and his reward was the Costa Mesa City title.
Reyes fired rounds of 62-68 for a 130 total at Costa Mesa Club. His 12-under for 36 holes was good enough to clear second-place finisher Ricky Owaki by two strokes.
Owaki, who shot 65-67 at Costa Mesa this year, finished runner-up last year as well, losing in a playoff to Andrew Levitt.
The defending champion Levitt could not rekindle last year's magic, as he posted 67-76=143 for the weekend.
A total of 11 players finished under par for the tournament.
Mike Rawles won the senior division by carding 73-70=143. He finished one stroke ahead of Andy Horner and David Jones, who tied for second.
