Tim Jackson wins sixth Tennessee State Amateur
MEMPHIS, Tenn. (August 8, 2014) — Tim Jackson of Germantown, Tenn. became the oldest winner in the history to win the Tennessee State Amateur Championship.

Jackson, 55, who has now won the event six times, as recently as 2012, was victorious at Memphis Country Club Friday after heading into the fourth round with a two-stroke lead over Grant Hirschman.

Jackson trailed the leader by five shots after the second round, but fired a 66 on Thursday while benefiting from an 80, shot by second-round leader Taylor Davis.

A 71 on Friday was good enough for Jackson to retain the title for a sixth time, winning the event by three shots over second place finisher Grant Hirschman.
