Jim Knoll wins California State Fair Senior title
MATHER, Calif. (September 1, 2014) — Jim Knoll (pictured left) of Sunnyvale, Calif. added to a remarkable 2014 season with a two-shot win at the California State Fair Senior Championship.

Knoll shot 68-69 at Mather Golf Course over Labor Day weekend, beating out second place finishers Scott Anderson and Greg O'Malley at 139.

Knoll had already won two big California events entering the State Fair, including the Northern California Senior Championship in April and the Sacramento City Senior Championship in July.

Defending champion David Baskins finished in a tie for fifth place at 142. He was tied with Knoll at 68 after the first round but a 74 in the final round dropped him out of contention.

Chuck Richesin of Lodi won his first Super Senior title, firing 67 in the first round and following that up with a 73 in round two for a 2 stroke victory over Jim Welsh of San Jose. According to Knoll, in his weekly email, Richesin's victory will "probably be the first of many." After seeing his solid play in AmateurGolf.com events we can safely agree.
