Gudmund Lindbjerg has three-shot lead at Washington Senior Amateur
Gudmund Lindbjerg
SEQUIM, Wash. (Sept. 24, 2014) — Defeating a three-time defending champion is almost as difficult and winning for a fourth consecutive time. Gudmund Lindbjerg is in one of those positions heading into Thursday's Washington Senior Amateur final round.
Having shot rounds of 67 and 72, Lindbjerg, of British Columbia, has a three-shot advantage over Tom Brandes — the man who has won the tournament every year since 2011.
Brandes is coming in playing well, having reached the round of 16 at the U.S. Senior Amateur last week at Big Canyon Country Club in Newport Beach, Calif. His rounds of 69 and 73 have him three back of Lindbjerg with one round to go while he has a one-shot lead for runner-up over Sheldon Washburn.
Washburn put himself back into contention with a 69 on Wednesday.
This 54-hole championship is being conducted this year at The Cedars at Dungeness in Sequim, Wash.
