Yeamans Hall Senior Invitational: Brady Exber builds upon stellar season
HANAHAN, S.C. (Oct. 8, 2014) — Brady Exber made it two in a row at the Yeamans Hall Senior Invitational on Wednesday, posting a final-round 67 to win the event by five shots.
Exber entered the third and final round with a one-shot lead over George Walker and Ken Larney and used the low round of the day to extend his eventual win to five strokes, posting 208 over 54 holes.
His 72 in the first round trailed David Ujihara by six, but the Brea, Calif. resident shot consecutive rounds of 77 on Tuesday and Wednesday to fall back into a tie for eighth.
Exber's win is his third of the year. He went over to the United Kingdom and captured the British Senior Amateur title and just last week he four-peated at the Senior Azalea.
Finishing in second place by himself was the consistent Walker, who shot three straight rounds of 71.
Third place went to a trio of players — Jack Kearney, Ken Larney, and Peter Van Ingren — who posted 215, seven shots back of Exber.
Defending champion Jon Tingley tied for eighth place, shooting 75-70-75.
In the Super Senior division, John Baldwin of West Palm Beach, Fla. won by four at a 54-hole total of 211. Second-round leader Tom Grady shot 80 on Wednesday and finished seven back of the winner.
Jim Rollefson and Russ Berkoben finished in a tie for second at 215.
