PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. (Oct. 20, 2014) — In Monday morning’s first round of Four-Ball Match Play (alternate shot format) in the Hanna-Wehrman Cup at par-71 Poppy Hills, the NCPGA grabbed a 3-2 lead on the backs of three 2 and 1 victories.

Winners for the NCGPA were the tandems of Steve Watanabe/Mike Duncan, Jason Schmuhl/Philip Dawson and Mitch Lowe/Shawn Kelly.

Picking up wins for the NCGA were the teams of Danny Paniccia/Mike Stieler (8 and 6) and Jason Anthony and Bobby Bucey (3 and 1). Paniccia and Stieler have proved dangerous when paired together.

The pair is two-time defending champions of the NCGA Four-Ball Championship, held annually at Spyglass Hill.

The NCGA has won the last eight Hanna-Wehrman Cups.
