ORLANDO, Fla. (Nov. 17, 2014) — Austin Hitt, a junior in high school from Longwood, Fla., trailed first-round leader Max De Craecker by five shots on Friday. But Hitt fought back with rounds of 70 and 69 to close the event and win the Orlando City Amateur by one shot.

De Craecker, who hails from France, finished the tournament 72-77 and tied for fifth place, five shots back.

Edward Richardson shot 72-70-72 and finished in solo second place while Derek Camps and Jim Kelly tied for third at 217.

ABOUT THE Orlando City Amateur

The Orlando City Amateur is a flighted 54-hole event played at the historic Dubsdread Golf Course. The tournament has a Championship Flight, Senior Division & Open Flights. Eligibility for this event is for ages 15 and up with a verifiable handicap index of 12 or lower. There is no residency requirement. Past champions of the Orlando City Am have gone on to play college and professional golf all the way up to the PGA Tour.
