CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. (Dec. 21, 2014) — Brandon Matthews and his closer pursuer Drew Czuchry matched blows today, both firing rounds of 70 to take the 1 and 2 positions respectively into the final round of the Dixie Amateur.
Matthews stands at 8-under while Czuchry is at 6-under. Anthony Gabriele shot 74 but still has a piece of third at 3-under, while James Clark made a huge move up the board with a low-round-of-the-day tying 68.

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. (Dec. 20, 2014) — Brandon Matthews, who posted a 6-under 66 to open the Dixie Amateur on Friday, cooled off a bit on Saturday. Matthews continues to lead at 6-under, however, after posting even par 72 for the day.
Anthony Gabriele (5-under) and Drew Czuchry (4-under) are giving chase and there is plenty of golf left. Stay tuned for more after Sunday's third round.

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. (Dec. 19, 2014) — After a first-round 66, Brandon Matthews, a junior at Temple University, leads the Dixie Amateur by a stroke with three rounds to go.
Tied for second place at 67 are Drew Czuchry of Georgia Tech and Quinlan Prchal of Princeton while three others are just two back at 68.
The defending champion, Curtis Thompson, who also won the 2011 event, recently turned pro and qualified for the Web.com Tour by placing eleventh at Web.com Tour Qualifying School.
The Dixie Men's Amateur, the third and final Dixie event taking place in South Florida this December, is being conducted at Heron Bay Golf Club and TPC Eagle Trace.
The 72-hole event will feature three rounds at Heron Bay before a 54-hole cut. The remaining players will finish the tournament at TPC Eagle Trace.
Having just concluded the Dixie Women's Amateur, where France's Mathilda Cappeliez won a playoff over fellow countrywomen Justine Dreher, which followed a repeat performance for Doug Hanzel at the senior event, Heron Bay and TPC Eagle Trace have been quite busy.

The Dixie has a traditionally strong field due to college break, and a past-champions list that includes many PGA Tour players as well as top-ranked amateurs like Peter Uihlein (2009 and 2010 champion).
