Four-way tie atop Kingsway Senior leaderboard
Michael Occi
LAKE SUZY, Fla. (Jan. 13, 2015) — Through two rounds at the Kingsway Senior Invitational, Mike Occi of Clarksville, Md. is close to defending his title on Florida's west coast. But three other players are tied with him for the lead entering Wednesday's final round.
Occi, after rounds of 72-71 to open up the event, shares the 36-hole lead with Bob Kearney, Ron Carter, and Steve Groom.
Kearney, who recently won the Old Corkscrew Senior Invitational, shot opposite rounds of Occi, 71-72 in his route to a share of the lead.
Carter, of Monticello, Ind., is fresh off a big win at the Gateway Senior where he birdied the first playoff hole to fend off Mark Weston. He carded a 68 in the second round to jump to the top of the leaderboard.
And rounding out the leaders is Groom, who won the 2014 Gateway Senior and tied for third last week in his attempt to repeat. He, like Occi, posted rounds of 72-71.
The 54-hole event will conclude Wednesday at Kingsway Golf & Country Club.
