GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Claudio Correa of Chile led his University of South Florida men's golf team to an eight-shot win at the SunTrust Gator Invitational while the host Florida Gators finished in fourth place — 19 shots back.

Correa opened with 65-73 and closed with 67 at Mark Bostick Golf Course in Gainesville to win the individual title two shots over Taylor Moore of second-place finishing Arkansas and JD Tomlinson of Florida.

“It goes without saying that it’s going to give us a lot of confidence for the remainder of the spring,” USF coach Steve Bradley told Golfweek. “We won our first event of the fall, but then kind of backed up a little bit, so to come out and kind of validate that we’re a pretty good team and give these guys the confidence moving forward is really tremendous.”

The USF Bulls received another top-five finish from Chase Koepka, younger brother of recent PGA TOUR winner Brooks Koepka. He shot 71-67-70 and tied for fourth place.

Second place Arkansas was led by Moore, the 2014 Southwestern Amateur winner, and Kolton Crawford, who also tied for fourth.
