Texas continues to roll with win at Linger Longer
Beau Hossler
EATONTON, Ga. — Beau Hossler led his Texas Longhorns to another team victory, beating Georgia by five shots to capture the Linger Longer Invitational at Great Waters Golf Course in Eatonton, Georgia.
The event, hosted by Mercer University, is typically one of the top-15 fields of the collegiate season.
Hossler, the sophomore from Mission Viejo, Calif. who won the 2014 Western Amateur, led the Longhorns with a second-place finish at 12-under 204. He fell two shots shy of his second individual title of the spring as Georgia's Lee McCoy used a final-round 67 to pull away from Hossler.
Ben Griffin of North Carolina grabbed third place at 10-under 206, helping his Tar Heels to a third place finish, which they shared with Kennesaw State.
