Daniels, Foreman win Salinas City Match Play titles

Taylor Daniels pulled off a series of upsets on his way to claiming the title at the annual Jim Lathum Salinas City Match Play Championship at Salinas Fairways Golf Course.
The No.13 seed, Daniels knocked out No.1 seed Nick Moore 3 and 1 in the semifinals and later defeated No.6 Joey Burlison 1-up in the finals to win the championship.
Burlison, who plays at Palma High in Salinas, had defeated No.2 Jack Palmer, 4 and 3, in the semifinals.
In the Senior Championship, No.3 seed Terry Foreman took the title after defeating No.4 Jim Knoll in the finals. In the semifinals, Knoll had moved on with a win over Mark Miller, while Foreman advanced with a victory over Rob Adolph.Knoll is a record four-time defending NCGA Senior Player of the Year. Foreman won the 2012 NCGA Senior Amateur Match Play title, and has reached the finals in the event each of the last two years.

matches each day with a 36-hole final match for the
Championship flight and
an 18-hole final for all other flights (Senior/Super
