Florida State wins third straight, captures Valspar Collegiate

PALM CITY, Fla. — Florida State captured its third straight tournament win with a victory at the Valspar Colleigate, hosted at Floridian in Palm City, Florida.
The Seminoles defeated eight top-20 ranked teams, including second-place LSU by five shots. Florida State was lead by junior Hank Lebioda and sophomore Jack Maguire, who is the brother of former North Florida golfer M.J. Maguire.
Lebioda shot 69 in the opening round and improved by a stroke each day, finishing in second place individually to Texas A&M's Greg Yates, who posted three consecutive 67s. Maguire opened with 74 but carded 66 and 68 in the final two rounds to crawl into the top-five.
Illinois, the current No. 1 team in the nation, finished 30 strokes behind Florida State in seventh place.
