Terra Cotta: Jorge Garcia of Venezuela leads by seven
Jorge Garcia
NAPLES, Fla. — Jorge Garcia, a high school golfer from Venezuela living in Florida, posted his second consecutive bogey-free round on day two of the Terra Cotta Invitational to increase his lead to seven shots.
Garcia, who has committed to play for the University of Florida for the 2015-2016 season, is the only player in the field to have made zero bogeys and to have shot both rounds in the 60s at Naples National Golf Club. Garcia's future teammate, Sam Horsfield of England, is in second place at five-under after shooting 73 on Saturday.

Garcia, the No. 11-ranked junior in the world had a hot front nine (30) on day one including four birdies in a row from holes 2 to 5. Horsfield, this year's New Year's Invitational winner, made just as many birdies as Garcia (8) but squeezed in two bogeys to post 66.
Horsfield holds second place by a shot over another high-school senior, Luis Gagne of Orlando. Gagne, who has committed to play next year for LSU, opened with 68 before shooting 72 on Saturday. Kyler Tate, yet another Florida commit, is in fourth place while 2014 South Beach International Amateur winner Gabriel Lench, a Liberty University commit, is in fifth at two-under along with defending champion Davis Riley.
Overall, the top seven players on the leaderboard are high-school seniors. St. Lawrence University Jack Whelan, in a tie for 8th place, is the first non-junior golfer in the top half of the scoreboard.
