LITTLE ROCK, ARK. (June 18, 2015) -- The Centennial Arkansas Stroke Play began Thursday at The Country Club of Little Rock located in Little Rock, Ark. The Keith Foster designed course plays at 6800 yards for 125 of Arkansas’s top amateur golfers.

Leading the way after day 1 are Austin Eoff from Benton, Ark. and Brice Howard from Hot Springs, Ark., both firing 1-under par 70s. Eoff, a rising senior at Purdue University, totaled 5 birdies on the day including 3 out of his final 5 holes to finish the day. Brice, a rising senior at Henderson State, converted 4 birdies on his day including three on his back nine for a closing nine of 34.

The pair currently leads by 2 over Austin Franks and Cameron McRae who finished at 1-over 73. The defending champion Seth Garner currently sits in a tie for 7th at 3 over par. He will certainly be a player to keep an eye on throughout the remainder of the tournament.

After Friday’s 2nd round, the field will be cut to the low 60 players who will play the final round on Saturday June 20th.
