Jonathan Lai goes low to win Ventura City

VENTURA, Calif. — Jonathan Lai of Arcadia, who originally hails from Hong Kong, won by six on Sunday at the Ventura City Championship. It was his first time playing in the tournament, as well as his first time playing both host courses — Olivas Links and Buenaventura Golf Course.
Lai, who will be a junior this fall at Yale University, shot a 36-hole total of 129 to beat Matthew DePalma who took second place at 135.
Former champion J.J. Holen grabbed third place at 136 while Eric Kim and Pedro Oviedo tied for fourth at 137.
