Anthony Cecere wins by two at Irvine City

IRVINE, Calif. — Pepperdine was well represented on Sunday at the Irvine City Championship.
Sophomore Anthony Cecere, from Palos Verdes, took home the title with rounds of 68 and 72 at Strawberry Farms Golf Club while his senior teammate David Pelekoudas, from Irvine, posted two rounds of 71 to grab the runner-up spot.
Cecere entered the final day up by a stroke over Michael Ginnard of Irvine, but a Sunday 77 dropped him back into a tie for sixth place.
Kenny Roberts of Seal Beach shot back-to-back 72s to claim third, while Shigetoshi Hasegawa of Irvine and Jacob Williams of Fontana tied for fourth at 145.
