CITY OF INDUSTRY, Calif. — Sean Birren fired 70 on the final day of the Industry Hills City Championship, tying Bryan Hong of Newport Beach to force a playoff.

Birren buried a birdie on the first playoff hole at the Eisenhower Course to take the championship.

The tournament, held at both courses at Industry Hills Golf Club, tested golfers on two of the toughest golf courses in the Southern California area. The more difficult Eisenhower Course, which is played for two of the three rounds, boasts a 75.1 rating and 142 slope from the back tees, which tip out at just over 7,100 yards.

Second-round leader Tim Snyder, a Cal State Northridge senior of Westlake Village, led Hong by a stroke after opening rounds of 69 and 72, but struggled to an 80 on Sunday to tie for fourth place with Josh McCollum and Tavit Garabedian.

Birren's winning round on Sunday was the lowest score of the day by two shots, with McCollum's 72 bumping him up the leaderboard after opening rounds of 82 and 67.

Hunter Epson of Long Beach secured third place with rounds of 73-70-77.
