SEWICKLEY, Pa. — Katie Miller captured her second career Pennsylvania Women's Amateur title on Friday, defeating 17-year-old Maddy Herr 2-up to take home the championship for the first time since 2007.
Miller, who played for the University of North Carolina in the mid-2000s, won holes 16, 17, and 18 to take down Herr, who will play for Penn State in the fall of 2016.
In the Senior Division, World Golf Hall-of-Fame member Carol Semple Thompson was victorious. Thompson was Miller's opponent back in 2007 when she captured her first title. It was the first Senior Title for Thompson, who just nine years earlier won her record 22nd Pennsylvania Women's Amateur.
