Fryatt duals with Exber to win Nevada Mid-Amateur

SPARKS, Nev. — It was a two-player battle during the final round of the Nevada Mid-Amateur between former pro Edward Fryatt and 2014 British Senior Amateur champion Brady Exber. The two entered the final round at Red Hawk Resort deadlocked at 3-under par 141, and were seven shots ahead of the next best player. But it was Fryatt emerging victorious while Exber suffered two costly double-bogeys.

Fryatt's final-round 70 gave him a three-shot win over Exber, who fought back valiantly from the second of his two double-bogeys, but it wasn't enough. The two players parred the final four holes as Fryatt cruised.

Fryatt came close to winning the Nevada State Amateur last month, reaching the championship match before he fell to UNLV golfer AJ McInerney.

Defending champion Kenny Ebalo finished in a tie for third place alongside Shane Sigsbee at 5-over par 221, ten strokes behind the winner.
