Young, Slutzky win Merit Amateur

GURNEE, Ind. — Danny Young and Chadd Slutzky teamed up to win the Merit Amateur, finishing with a final score of +32 to beat Brian Atkinson and Blake Johnson by three points at Merit Club in Gurnee, Indiana.
The 54-hole, multi-format event features rounds of best-ball and stableford in team play. The defending champions Kyle Nathan and Andrew Vitt posted +15 and tied for third place with Eric Burch and Kyle Monfort.
Mark Esposito and Ted Zurkowski took home the title in the Senior division, finishing with a total of +11, which was four points better than runners-up Scott Spielmann and Mike Rice. There was a tie for third place at +6, one back of second place, with Tim Teaster and Holly Wallace, and Alex Moore and Dan Dolan.

Carmody Invitational
Formerly known as the Merit Amateur, this is a two
day, multi-format event
that features rounds of
best-ball Stableford. 27 holes are played each day,
with
the final 9 holes each day the aggregate score of the
two players.
Handicap and age requirements are the same as for
the
USGA
Mid-Am and the USGA Senior Am. Field limit to 36
teams and will be considered by playing
resume. Merit Club hosted the 2000 U.S.
Women's Open.
