Bob Kearney fires 65 to lead Golfweek Senior Tour Championship

MARICOPA, Ariz. — Hot off his Society of Seniors Championship win on Sunday at Wigwam Resort, Bob Kearney went out and made nine birdies at Ak-Chin Southern Dunes to jump out to a four-stroke lead at the Golfweek Senior Tour Championship.
Kearney, of Houston, Texas, birdied his final three holes to post 65 and sit four ahead of Paul Schlachter, and six up on Don Reycroft and Jim Fuchs.
On Sunday, Kearney wrapped up a three-stroke victory up the road in Phoenix over Keith Smith. His consistent rounds of 72-71-73 gave him his third win of the year, and pushed him to second place in the AmateurGolf.com Senior Rankings.
Gary Kirwan, Gordon Willins, and Fred Clark share the lead at 72 in the Super Senior Division, while Joe Pavoni is up one over Fred Silver in the Legends Division.
