Bob Kearney does it again at Kingsway while Tim Miller wins Super Senior
LAKE MARY, Florida (January 14, 2016) -- He's at it
again.
Bob Kearney has successfully
defended
his title at the Kingsway Senior Invitational with a 5-
shot win over John Vaccaro and Mike Occi.
The Houston golfer is tearing his way across
Florida, and while he lost in a playoff at the Gateway
Senior last week the second-best player in the 2015
AmateurGolf.com Senior
Rankings (he's first so far this year of course)
was coming off a win the week before at the Old
Corkscrew.
Today, Kearney posted 70 against final rounds of
73 by both Vaccaro (Sarasota, Florida) and Occi
(Columbia Maryland) to win the tournament by 5-
shots
at 5-under 211.
Occi's runner-up performance continues a solid run
at
or near the top here -- between he and Kearney they
have the four of the last five years wrapped up. He
won
the tournament in 2012 and 2014. Vaccaro, who
spends the warm months in Albany, New York, has
played in two U.S. Senior Opens.
SUPER SENIOR
Tim Miller of Venice, Florida posted 70 to
overtake
Gary Strickfaden
of Southern Pines, North Carolina and win the title by
a
single shot at 2-under 214.
